After 6-hours of grilling by Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam, Dr Thum Ping Tjin took to Facebook to complain about being grilled on his academic work on Operation Coldstore at a hearing that was about Deliberate Online Falsehoods.
Perhaps he has selective amnesia.
He forgot that his written submission to the Select Committee was a loaded one about Operation Coldstore where he accused Mr Lee Kuan Yew of fabricating it at a time when the internet was not even around.
So why did he not expect to be scrutinized on his work?
🙄Clearly his work could not stand up to scrutiny and that made him uncomfortable.
Dr Thum FAILED AT THE VERY FIRST HURDLE when his CREDENTIALS got poked.
He claimed in his submission to be a Research Fellow in History at the Oxford University.
But when probed at the Select Committee Hearing, he admitted that he is actually a visiting professor in Anthropology at the Oxford University.
Dr Thum admitted that he did not have any tenure academic position at Oxford.
So what kind of historian is he?
